Our Check-In time starts at 3:00 PM ET / local hotel time. Should you arrive earlier and your room is not yet ready, we are happy to store your luggage for you while you head out to explore New York.

Early check in may be available, but is not guaranteed as it is based on availability, and our guests' departure times vary each day. In the event your room type is available and fully serviced by our housekeeping department, the hotel can provide an early check-in when possible, subject to a charge-- speak with the Front Desk team directly to confirm.

Yes! The Empire is proud to be one of the rare hotels with an outdoor swimming pool in NYC. Our Rooftop Plunge Pool is open seasonally, weather permitting, each day from late May to mid-September. Pool Deck Amenities include chaise lounges, a poolside bar, and plush day beds. The Empire Rooftop Pool is open for the summer season from Memorial Day weekend in late May, through Labor Day weekend in early September each year. Book your stay and join us poolside today.

Yes, we provide complimentary WiFi throughout the entire building’s public spaces, absolutely. Premium high-speed internet access for an unlimited number of devices is included in room & tax fees for our guests, as part of the Empire Hotel Residence Fee.

Three major airports serve the New York City area, and many guests use Uber, Lyft, or other ride hailing apps to arrange transportation to the Empire Hotel upon arrival. 

• John F Kennedy JFK - approximately $50.00 – $75.00 + ~45 minute drive
• Newark EWR- approximately $65.00 – $85.00 + ~45 mins to 1 hour drive
• LaGuardia LGA- approximately $35.00 – $50.00 + ~30 minute drive

A budget-friendly option, if you're traveling light, is public transportation.

• From JFK, take the AirTrain from the airport & transfer to the E train at Sutphin Blvd / JFK Station, and ride to the 42nd Street Station (Port Authority). Here, switch to the A/C train and uptown to 59th St Columbus Circle station. Our hotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from here..
• From Newark, take the AirTrain to Manhattan's 34th Street Penn Station. Transfer to the subway & take the A/C train uptown, get off at 59th St Columbus Circle. We are less than 5 minutes' walk from here. 
• We recommend car service from LaGuardia. 

Absolutely. Luggage storage for registered guests is complimentary, included in the Empire Hotel's Residence Fee. Touch base with a porter / bellman in the lobby level for assistance.

The Empire Hotel is entirely non-smoking, including all guest rooms and suites. A penalty charge will be applied to rooms where evidence of smoking is found. 

We will be glad to accept and store any packages arriving at the hotel for registered hotel guests. Please make sure that the name on the package matches the name on your reservation to ensure seamless acceptance.

Reservation cancellation policies may vary, from 24 hours prior to arrival by 3PM EST, to fully non-refundable, based on the rate or room type you reserved. The Empire Hotel offers flexible, free cancellation up to 24 hours prior to arrival when you Book Direct on our official website. Learn more about our Hotel Policies and review your reservation details to confirm.

Your credit card will be pre-authorized for the full cost of your room, taxes and fees, and an additional $150 for incidental charges on arrival. Upon check out, your credit card is charged for the final folio amount, and remaining authorization will be released. Please allow 5-7 business days (maybe longer for International credit cards) for your credit card statement to reflect the final charged amount. Please contact our team with any questions regarding your bill.

Yes, all of our hotel rooms + suites have their own in-room HVAC thermostat controls to help our guests regulate the room to the temperature of their choice, regardless of season. 

Our luxury bath amenities are provided by CO Bigelow Apothecary, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash / shower gel, and lotion. Rooms are also equipped with hair dryers, towels, full length mirrors, makeup mirrors, and iron + ironing boards.

We do not offer rollaway beds; all room occupancies are based upon existing bed types only. We offer a variety of rooms and suites with multiple beds, many comfortably accommodating 4 or more occupants per room, as well as Premium Two Bedroom Suites that are comprised of connecting rooms for families and friends traveling together.

Our goal is to give you the most valuable experience during your stay. To simplify your supplementary charges, the Empire Hotel Residence Fee has you covered! 

$19.95 + tax per room, per night is charged, and includes:
