Ensure an enjoyable stay at the Empire Hotel New York

We understand that rules can sometimes feel restrictive. However, to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all our guests, we kindly ask you to observe the following guidelines and policies when booking your stay at the Empire Hotel New York.

  • Check-in / check-out time - Check in time is 3:00PM, check out time is 12:00PM. If you anticipate an earlier arrival we would advise you to book your room from the night before as we cannot guarantee an early check-in. Late departures are granted based on availability and are subject to an additional fee.
  • Guarantee Policy: 
    • Prepaid Reservations. Your reservation is being held by the credit card provided at the time of booking. The reservation is non-refundable / non-cancellable, and you will be charged the full amount after booking. Reservation may be cancelled at the hotel's discretion should payment fail.
    • Cancellable Reservations. Your reservation is being held by the credit card provided at the time of booking. 100% of the first night may be charged anytime after booking. Your credit card may be charged if you do not check in at the Hotel on the scheduled arrival day, if you shorten your scheduled departure after checking-in, or if you do not cancel your reservation in accordance with the cancellation policy.
  • Rate Rules / Restrictions - All special offers and promotions are limited time offers and are marked as such; you cannot derive any rights in the event of obvious errors or mistakes. Rates confirmed are for the number of occupants listed in your e-mail confirmation, per room, per night and do not include additional charges for extra people or beds and will apply only to rooms booked as part of this reservation. Rates are subject to change should your reservation be modified in any way.
  • Taxes - Room rates are exclusive of sales tax at 8.875%, city tax at 5.875%, occupancy tax at $2.00 - $8.00 USD per night depending on room category, and Javits Centre tax at $1.50 USD per night. Taxes, service charges, etc. are subject to change without notice according to local law. 
  • Cancellations + No Shows - Cancel free of charge up to 24 hours prior to arrival by 3PM EST, unless otherwise specified. Please check your reservation confirmation to verify the cancellation policy for your reservation/room type /rate type. No shows and late cancellations are subject to a charge of, at minimum, the 1st night room and tax fees. This policy does not apply to non-refundable reservations, which are non-refundable and non-changeable unless otherwise stated.
  • Pet Policy - We are pet-friendly. One-time Pet Fee of $100 applies, with a nightly $25 charge per pet, with 1 pet allowed per room. Learn more about our Pet Friendly Policies and required documentation. 
  • Non-Smoking Policy - The Empire Hotel is entirely non-smoking, including all guest rooms and suites. A penalty charge will be applied to rooms where evidence of smoking is found. 
  • Payment & Minimum Age - At least one occupant of the room needs to be 21 years or older with a valid ID and credit card available on check-in. The card will be authorized at check-in for the estimated amount of your entire stay (room, plus applicable taxes/fees, and an amount for potential incidentals). Upon check out, your credit card is charged for the final folio amount, and remaining authorization will be released. Please allow 5-7 business days (maybe longer for International credit cards) for your bank / credit card statement to reflect the final charged amount. The Hotel is not responsible for overdraft charges incurred due to the hold. 
  • Residence / Destination Fee - Our goal is to give you the most valuable experience during your stay. To simplify your supplementary charges, the Empire Hotel Residence Fee, charged at $19.95 + tax per room, per night includes:
    • Unlimited Local Phone Calls
    • 2 Bottled Waters Daily
    • High-Speed Internet for unlimited devices throughout the hotel
    • Access to our Fitness Center + Rooftop Pool (in season)
    • Holding of Guest Packages Delivered up to 48-Hours Prior to Arrival
    • Luggage Storage on your day of arrival and departure
  • Pool Access - Our rooftop plunge pool is open seasonally from Memorial Day in late May to Labor Day in early September each year. Access is exclusive to hotel guests.
  • Privacy Policy - Read the hotel Privacy Policy. We do not sell your information.
